Join the Sacramento Valley Conservancy docents for a walk through the Blue Oak Woodlands at Deer Creek Hills Preserve to explore flowering summer bulbs. Everyone welcome: botany nerds, photographers, and those who just want to enjoy the outdoors in springtime. Depending on what’s blooming we will explore the ecology of the blue oak woodlands, spring wildflowers and marvel at the late season bulbs. Come prepared to tromp through wet grass and cross bubbling brooks. Most hikes are 3-4 miles over uneven terrain. Special events include storytellers with tales for young and young at heart and a trip through time to see how humans have altered this landscape.
Attendees must pre-register online. Space is limited.
