Join Deer Creek Hills birding docents for a jaunt to one of their favorite birding spots. Meet at Eagle Camp Corral on old Latrobe Road at sunrise (about 6:45 am) for a hike departure at 7am. Location for this outing will depend on what docents find to be the best areas at DCH in the preceding weeks and modified by the wishes of guests. Docents will guide you to one or more of their favorite places that cannot be accessed on the self-guided hike. Expect to hike 2-4 miles over uneven terrain.
Plan on viewing bird behavior through one of two scopes provided by docents or bring your own. Your guides love sharing bits of bird trivia along the way and are also happy to share their other knowledge of native flora and fauna. Join us for a morning journey in nature. Sturdy foot ware, snack or lunch and water are a must, your own binoculars are advised and curiosity is always a plus!
Space is limited to 12 guests and 4 docents. Attendees must pre-register online. A $10 donation is suggested. Contributions are tax-deductible and allow SVC to continue offering guided-tours of the preserve as well as protect additional open spaces in the greater Sacramento region.
