People on bikes and horses share trails along the American River. Join Sacramento Area Mountain Bike Association and SABA to learn more about how each group uses the American River Parkway and the best practices for safely sharing Parkway trails.
We will start off the day with a group ride along the unpaved maintenance roads in the Woodlake and Cal Expo areas of the American River Parkway. The trails are flat and suitable for riders of all abilities -- please be sure your bike can be ridden on dirt trails.
At the end of the ride we will return to Camp Pollock and meet up with some members of the American River Parkway Equestrian Patrol. We will meet the horses and spend a little bit of time learning about simple do's and don'ts for when you meet up with horses on the trail. This is especially appropriate for younger riders or people who have never been around horses.
This is a free, RSVP-only event. Kids age 9 and older are welcome to attend with a parent or adult guardian -- please register your child separately and include their age. By law, helmets must be worn by anyone under age 18.
