Event:   Birding in Nature: Where the Birds Are
Start Date:   Saturday, June 8, 2019
Time:   6:00am-11am
Location:   Deer Creek Hills Preserve
Limit:   25 people
Deadline:   6/8/2019

Meet at Eagle Camp Corral at 5:45am for a 6am start. High clearance vehicles are helpful in the event we carpool to a different start location. Bring lunch if you want to join us in the creation of the ebird list at the conclusion of the outing.

Docents have a fair knowledge of local wildflowers and the natural landscape in addition to the local birds. So if you are curious about something, just ask and they will do their best to provide you with the information.

The route for this outing will depend on the weather, bird migration activity, nesting activity and scouting results from the docents earlier in the week, plus input from the guests. Sunrise is at 5:41 and the weather in June can get hot, so layered clothing, a hat, sunscreen and water are advisable. We reserve the right to conclude the outing early if the weather is very hot and bird activity is not.

Wear clothing in muted earth-tone colors, to blend with the terrain, and sturdy boots for uneven surfaces.  Birding scopes, binoculars and/or cameras, are highly recommended for any birding outing.

All levels and ages of birding enthusiasts welcome.

Attendees must pre-register online. Space is limited.

We will meet at the corner of Stonehouse and Latrobe Roads at 5:45am and carpool to DCH North promptly at 6am. (Do not drive into the usual spot at Eagle Camp Corral.)

Attendees must pre-register online. Space is limited.
