Camp Pollock Docent Service Day
August 25, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free
Welcome 2021 Camp Pollock Docents! We’re ready to get to work. This is a docent-only service day where we may take on a variety of tasks including planting, weed eradication, construction, cleaning, painting, digging, fence building, mopping, window washing, outreach, native plant propagation/ maintenance, and more.
Bring your own work gloves, mask, hand sanitizer, water and snacks. Remember to wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, a hat, and dress in layers. A comfortable well-fitting mask is highly recommended to help prevent breathing in dry plant debris, especially since this workday will include raking and blowing dry leaves.
If you do not have a digital term waiver on file, you will need to print, sign, and bring a Release of Liability form.
COVID-19 EXPOSURE AND ILLNESS PREVENTION
Review the most recent Sacramento County Public Health Order, the most up to date CDC recommendations and adhere to any other mandated directives for your place of residence as well as Camp Pollock (Sacramento County).
If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) or have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID 19 or experiencing these symptoms, please stay home. SVC has a lease to manage Camp Pollock until 2048… there will be plenty of opportunities in the future if you are unable to attend this event.
With the recent increase in covid cases in Sacramento County, SVC will be following the Sacramento County Public Health recommendations:
- Masks are required for everyone (regardless of vaccination status) while indoors.
- Fully-vaccinated Docents will no longer be required to wear masks outdoors, except during an outbreak or other narrowly-defined circumstances. BUT – before fully-vaccinated Docents shed their masks, SVC must document that they are fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination can be emailed to outreach@sacramentovalleyconservancy.org
- Docents who are not fully vaccinated must wear masks while working with the public.
- Wearing a mask is voluntary for fully-vaccinated Docents. Vaccinated Docents who choose to wear a mask will not be retaliated against, nor will they be asked to explain their reasoning for choosing to wear a mask.
Please register below by 6pm Monday, so we can plan our projects accordingly. Registrants will be notified by email if the event is canceled or modified.
