Docent Equestrian Safety Training
February 11 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Current SVC equestrian docents will gather at Deer Creek Hills to review emergency response protocols, practice hands-on emergency scenarios and gain valuable information on how to ensure group safety during an emergency. There will be a 30 minute review of protocols and orientation to docent resource binder followed by a short hike to the training location near the Oxbow pond. Snacks and drinks will be provided at the corral.
Docent and nurse Sue Fossum will be leading the human safety scenarios and Docent and Veterinarian Lisa Couper will be offering animal first aid advice and considerations. All active equestrian docents must attend the safety training to remain active for the 2023 season.
This is a great way to freshen up your skills, connect with other docents and get prepared for hosting another wonderful season of public access at Deer Creek Hills. If you have any questions regarding the docent program, please contact Carly at outreach@sacramentovalleyconservancy.org. Thank you for your participation.
When RSVP’ing below, please put your email address in the “Send RSVP confirmation to” section.
