Noah’s Mitzvah Service Project
July 24, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Join Noah and SVC Stewardship Staff in an invasive plant removal project at Deer Creek Hills Preserve. We will focus on removing yellow star thistle, a nasty weed found throughout our Central Valley rangelands. Please come prepared with your work gloves, pants and long-sleeves (yellow star is prickly!), closed-toed shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Water and light snacks will be provided. Gates open at 9:30am, safety and introduction starts at 10:00am. Following our safety discussion, we will proceed to the project location which is just a short walk from the parking lot. We will wrap up at 12:00pm.
Portalets are available on site and serviced every Friday, but these are high-use areas so come prepared with your own hand sanitizer. There is no running water on the property. Arrive hydrated and bring plenty of drinking water. All visitors must practice Leave No Trace. Pack it in, pack it out. Smoking is prohibited.
Please RSVP before 6pm on July 23 so stewardship leaders can plan accordingly. All visitors will need to sign a release of liability waiver.
There is no fee to reserve a ticket; however, if you choose to donate to the conservancy please visit the SVC Donation Page after registering.
SVC will recognize your gift as an “in honor of” gift to Noah. Your donation supports the conservancy’s efforts to permanently protect a network of natural and working landscapes in the Sacramento Valley.
