Bumble Bee Photo Safari

May 21 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Calling all nature lovers and outdoor professionals, Camp Pollock’s gardens are open for you to enjoy! Join SVC staff and docents as we celebrate the beautiful world of insects and the plants they call home. This event will feature a brief photo slideshow of common Camp Pollock pollinators and then an in-field photo tutorial on how to get a great shot! Learn tips and tricks for using professional cameras or even your cell phone. Guests are invited to roam and ramble as they search the garden for pollinators and snap photos to upload to Bumble Bee Watch and iNaturalist for identification. SVC is grateful to be working with Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation on planting native California plants that support pollinator habitat.

Bring a camera/phone, comfortable shoes and clothes for hiking (trails are less than 1 mile), water and snacks.

Please RSVP below by 6pm the Friday prior. Space is limited. Parking and admission are free, but donations are encouraged ($5-$20 per person recommended). Complete your liability waiver in advance for faster checkin.
