Gardening for pollinators and protecting pollinators in our communities
Guest Speaker: Angela Laws
Join Angela Laws from the Xerces society to talk about insect pollinators. We will cover the basic biology of insect pollinators. We will also talk about the conservation status of some of California’s insect pollinators, as well as the causes of population declines in these important animals. We’ll also talk about what we can do to support pollinators in our communities.
Angela Laws is a biologist the Xerces Society and is Xerces’ Climate Lead. She works on habitat restoration for pollinators and monarch butterflies in the Central Valley. She received a M.S. in Ecology from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Notre Dame.

Please RSVP below by 6pm the evening prior. Space is limited. Parking and admission are free, but donations are encouraged ($5-$20 per person recommended). All money collected will be split between SVC and a nonprofit chosen by the presenter. Complete your liability waiver in advance for faster checkin.
