SVC joined American River Natural History Association‘s wildlife count with ‘Team Meadowlark,’ in our first year of participating in the count. On Saturday December 2nd, our team covered the miles between Discovery Park and Camp Pollock.
We documented 51 bird species, many squirrels, a mink, a coyote, 2 deer, a California sea lion, a river otter and more!
The information collected is reported to eBird, ARNHA staff and the other teams along the parkway. All of the data will be available for scientists, students, and agency staff.
